I felt compelled to buy this when my mouse, the older Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse, broke after 3 years of service! Was actually negatively surprised by this!
The haptic feedback (vibration at the touch-scroll) feels annoying artificial or "fake" in Arcen, unlike Explorer variant was heaven scrolling with, and more realistic, that is felt more like the reel wheel on traditional mice with scroll wheel.
Touches on Arcen seems to be there for decorative purposes, especially when compared to how the functionality is implemented on the Explorer; horizontal scroll and programmable functionality for different touch gestures are like the modern Microsoft Arc Mouse LACKS, and the older Microsoft Explorer Mouse and both have the functionality of which inspire luxury and quality feel (that wonder it disappeared!)
It's actually even worse than merely "decorative purposes"; touches on Arc: one brings with it all the cons trying to get rid of when to have a mouse to their laptop. No precision when you need to "double-lose" on the mouse touch plate instead of, as with the Explorer holding down the "middle button"!
Have had it for a week so far, and can not count how many times I missed a link when I tried to open it in a new tab and missed!
The worst thing is that I might be forced to settle for the inferior Arcen when the Explorer is no longer sold and are in a newer "Edition" ...
With all that said, I still do not lie, this is a good mouse, and it is not right that I think "throw it" ... may, however, return it if I find an Explorer for sale ...
